Vashon Allied Arts Gallery offers new gallery exhibits every month, from two or three artists to group shows and solo exhibits. VAA Gallery shows work in a wide range of media and subject matter including paintings, sculpture, mixed media, photography, wood, glass, ceramics and fiber. VAA Gallery encourages proposals for group shows and installations. Artists exhibiting in the Gallery hail from Vashon Island and throughout the Northwest. VAA shows work by professional artists and once a year showcases emerging artist/artists. Exhibitions are offered by invitation from Gallery Curator and through a juried process by a panel of professional artists. Submission proposals will be accepted after June, 2014. In “Finding Center,” Brian Fisher, Penny Grist and Liz Lewis exhibit new individual work with a common theme. The three Islanders conspired to meet in the middle, drawing influence from each other and incorporating shared stylistic components, such as circular shapes and a common color palette. Fisher, Grist and Lewis also stay true to their own artistic personas through chosen mediums and individual interpretations.
